Load Bank FAQ's

What is a load bank?
A load bank is a device that develops an electrical load and applies the load to an electrical power source. Avtron and Froment brand load banks provide consistent, accurate, measurable, and repeatable electric loads on a power source.

What is the maximum capacity of an Avtron or Froment load bank?
The maximum capacity is dependant on the voltage that is required. Usually the higher the capacity required the larger the load bank. To discover the capacities, by load bank models visit the load banks page, select the type of load bank required and scroll to the models in that range. Alternatively contact us and we can talk you through a number of options.

What voltages do the load banks cover?
The standard Froment load bank voltages cover from 380V to 690V and can offer higher voltages on request. Avtron have a standard medium voltage range and low voltage range. For more information on this please contact us.

Can I rent an Avtron or Froment load bank?
We don't rent load banks ourselves, however we do have a list of approved Avtron Froment load bank rental companies. Please contact us for more information.

What standards do the load banks comply to?
Froment is ISO 9001 Quality Management certified by BSI under certificate number FM 38927 and manufactures product to CE and IEC standards.
Avtron is ISO 9001 Quality Management certified by SAI Global under certificate number CERT-0083313 and manufactures product to UL/CUL, CSA and NFPA.

Dynamometer FAQ's

Will the dynamometer work on all tractor sizes?
Yes, the adjustable software and shafts mean that Froment dynamometers can be used on most sizes of tractors, foragers and combines.

How long will the dynamometers work on full power?
The Froment dynamometers will work on full power for about 10 minutes depending on ambient temperature and location. Please contact us for more information on specific models and ambients.

What size and how much do the dynamometers weight?
For full size measurements please refer to the technical data sheets or drawings.

Where can I get spare parts?

Do you offer training for the dynamometers?
